Moose Lake Info

Moose Lake is a 1,600 acre, dark water flowage surrounded by the 1,300 square mile Chequamegon National Forest , making it a true sports paradise.

As a Class "A" musky lake, it is well known as one of Wisconsin's finest musky fisheries. There are also good populations of walleye, smallmouth bass, crappie and panfish.

Moose Lake is formed by the merging of 3 rivers: the West Fork of the Chippewa, Moose, and Little Moose rivers. Below Moose Lake, the West Fork of the Chippewa winds through wild & beautiful wilderness before flowing into the Chippewa Flowage (Lake Chippewa on the Sawyer County map).

For ATV & snowmobile enthusiats, Moose Lake is on ATV-trail #5 and snowmobile trails #5 & #21 which connect to 100's of miles of trails in northern Wisconsin. Click for Trail Map.
